Connecting the Sea and the Mountains: The End of a Journey

Founders Shoko & Tama traveled across Japan for about a year and a half in a 1966 van after living in Shonan. What began as a journey purely in search of good waves gradually transformed into a quest to discover "what truly makes for a comfortable life."

Their search led them to Shiromi, a hidden gem in Miyazaki. After moving there, the words "the sea and the mountains are connected," heard from a villager, became the core of their philosophy. A rich forest nurtures a rich ocean. The sea they loved and the mountains they chose were connected within the grand cycle of nature.
